The Yiddish Arts and Academic Association of North America (YAAANA) and its physical location called Yiddishland California, both based in San Diego, California, are looking for a Salesforce Specialist Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience in managing and optimizing Salesforce CRM for a non-profit organization. The role focuses on Salesforce administrative functions such as user management, data integrity, and process automation, while offering insights into how CRMs support fundraising and engagement efforts within a cultural non-profit setting. We are currently seeking an organized, analytical, and diligent individual to assist with Salesforce administrative tasks. Familiarity with Salesforce reporting and dashboard creation is a plus. Our interns receive access to all YAAANA events and classes as well as to the YAAANA archives. Internships are unpaid, but can be taken for college credit. We offer in-person and remote internships.

Responsibilities Include

1. User and Security Management: Assist with managing user accounts, profiles, and permissions within Salesforce to ensure data security and appropriate access levels.

2. Data Cleansing and Maintenance: Analyze existing data within Salesforce, identify inconsistencies, and implement data cleansing strategies to improve data quality and accuracy.

3. Process Automation: Explore and document current workflows within Salesforce. Propose and potentially implement automation solutions using Salesforce tools (e.g., Process Builder, Flow) to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.

4. Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fundraising, membership, and program participation.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Familiarity with the Salesforce platform and its core functionalities (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Non-Profit Success Pack).

2. Understanding of database concepts and data management principles.

3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Learning Objectives

1. Interns will gain practical experience in Salesforce administration, including user management, data cleansing, and process automation.

2. Interns will develop a deep understanding of how non-profit organizations utilize Salesforce to manage their operations and achieve their goals.

3. Interns will enhance their analytical and reporting skills by working with real-world data in Salesforce.

4. Interns will gain familiarity with secular Jewish culture and the Yiddish language.

Estimated Duration

Full-time: preferably 8, minimum 6 week engagement with a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week.

Part-time: preferably 16, minimum 12 week engagement with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

Longer internships with a less demanding time commitment are available upon request.

If an intern wishes to receive academic credit for the internship, it is their responsibility to check with their academic institution for approval prior to beginning the position.
