Yiddishland California Data Protection Policy

Yiddishland California in La Jolla is the physical space of a non-profit organization called the Yiddish Arts and Academics Association of North America (YAAANA). Our EIN number is 85-2064877. This policy sets out how we collect, process, and hold your personal data.

Personal data we collect

We collect personal data when you buy a ticket for any of our events and classes we run in order to manage the process and communicate with you. We may also collect personal data that you give to us about other people if you register them to attend an event.

You will only receive marketing information from us if you have purchased tickets, attended an event, are on a Yiddishland California mailing list, or have requested to go on a mailing list. 

When you contact us by email or social media, we may keep a record of the correspondence. 

Lawful processing of your personal data

We will use your personal data in order to comply with our contractual obligation to provide your tickets to an event or class. In addition, we will access your personal contact information if we need to contact you with any information relating to the event and to respond to any questions, comments or complaints you have. 

We only share data when we work with specific third parties to operate our processes, such as  Humanitix, Eventbrite and PayPal.

Marketing Communications

If you “opt in” to receive marketing communications from YAAANA, you consent to the processing of your data to send you such communications. You can choose to no longer receive marketing communications by contacting us at info@yiddishland.ca or clicking unsubscribe from a marketing email. We shall keep your details until you inform us that you no longer wish to receive marketing emails from us.

Security

We shall process your personal data in a manner that endeavors to ensure appropriate security of the data.

Your rights

You have the right to obtain from us a copy of the personal data that we hold for you, and to require us to correct errors in the personal data if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
