Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special exploration of love and art! Join art historian Jennifer Stern for an engaging session on Marc Chagall, where we delve into the beauty and significance of his artwork, his deep love for Bella Chagall, and his lifelong connection to his Yiddish heritage. Born in 1887 in a Jewish community in present-day Belarus, Chagall grew up speaking Yiddish and carried this cultural influence throughout his artistic career. In this interactive session, discover the language of love through Yiddish vocabulary, learn about Stern’s personal connection to Chagall, and explore how his hometown shaped the romantic and symbolic imagery in his paintings.
